Murphy von Kern is a large, debonair looking 6-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as his body.  Murphy is a strong guy who feels the need to be the big protector of his people because he loves them and wants them to be safe.  If you're out walking him on leash, he's always alert to his surroundings, making sure everything is alright and stops at every corner before he lets you cross the street (he must have learned that from a boy scout he once met!).  If he sees something he doesn't particularly care for, he'll bark as if to say, "I'll take care of it for you!"  Due to his size and strength, he'll need a home with someone experienced with large dogs.  Murphy is housebroken and sleeps through the night right there by your side.  He also sits beautifully in front of you as he waits for his treat, which he takes very gently from your hands.  Overall, Murphy is quite mellow and just wants to hang out with his people quietly watching out for them as he enjoys their company.  You can't go wrong with a dog like Murphy, in fact you'll be lucky to call him your friend.  Come meet him and see for yourself what a great dog he really is.
